ANGIN AHMAR VS MINOR STROKE: KNOW THE DIFFERENCE AND ITS SYMPTOMS

 

Angin ahmar and minor stroke are two conditions that are not much different in terms of symptoms and signs. This is because both minor stroke, also known as Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA), and angin ahmar involve a blockage in blood flow occurring in the human brain. However, it is important for us to understand the difference and connection between both conditions.

 

Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) is also known as a minor stroke because its symptoms resemble those of angin ahmar and involve a restriction of blood flow to the brain but only last for a few minutes to hours. A minor stroke attack often resolves within less than 24 hours and does not cause permanent damage to the brain. However, it is important for victims of a TIA or minor stroke to consult a healthcare professional or doctor to determine the severity of the attack, as a minor stroke can also be a warning sign of an impending angin ahmar (stroke).

• Arm weakness – Weakness or numbness in one arm. This can be tested by asking the individual to raise both arms.

• Speech difficulty – Speech sounds unclear and impaired. This can be tested by asking the individual to repeat a simple phrase.

• Time for emergency – If all the above symptoms are present, seek medical help immediately.
